Wonder-verse: Architecting the Metaverse Entry Point

Defined the "Phygital" launch strategy for Hong Kong’s premier NFT marketplace, converting high-level curiosity into measurable platform adoption

Key Objective:
To architect an accessible entry point for the Hong Kong public to explore NFTs through immersive art, driving platform registration and cultural self-reliance.

How might we demystify the abstract concepts of NFTs and the Metaverse for the Hong Kong public, transforming them into an accessible, tangible, and high-value experience?

Lead Experience Designer & Project Manager

Directed the end-to-end user journey, from initial market research and persona development to the realization of a seamless offline-to-online (O2O) redemption flow.


The Delivery:

  • Evidence-Based Experience Strategy: Spearheaded deep-dive research into global and local NFT trends to address common user pain points and skepticism. I developed targeted personas to ensure the experience remained beginner-friendly and trustworthy.

  • Seamless O2O (Offline-to-Online) Journey: Engineered a frictionless "Redemption Flow" that allowed visitors to purchase a physical "Metaverse" flavored beer, scratch a code, and instantly claim their first NFT on the platform. This gamified interaction lowered the barrier to entry for digital asset collection.


  • Multisensory Exhibition Design: Collaborated with space designers and sound artists (Zafka, Peter Nelson) to create an immersive 5.1 audio-video space. The journey was designed around "Looking, Thinking, Listening, Playing, and Tasting," ensuring the Metaverse was felt, not just explained.

  • Cross-Functional Product Launch: Acted as the lead liaison between 11 commissioned artists, technical teams, and marketing stakeholders to synchronize the platform launch with the physical K11 Art Mall event.
Expertise Integration:

  • Feature Adoption: Successfully drove 60% conversion from physical event visits to digital platform members, onboarding 1,500+ new users during the launch campaign.

  • Instrumentation: Engineered a seamless O2O (Offline-to-Online) instrumentation flow, utilizing physical "scratch-code" beer labels to trigger instant digital NFT redemptions on the marketplace.

  • NPS/Trust Alignment: Addressed the "Trust Gap" in emerging tech by designing an educational experience that turned skeptical visitors into brand promoters.
  • The Impact:

    🚀 High-Velocity Community Building: Transformed 2,500+ event visitors into a qualified user base, with over 1,500 visitors owning their very first NFT after the exhibition.


    🚀 Strategic Educational Impact: Developed an engagement model (60% Branding, 30% Education, 10% Sales) that effectively introduced the true value of NFTs to brands, artists, and new collectors in Hong Kong.

    🚀 Validated UI/UX Realization: Designed the entire digital redemption UI and marketplace interface, ensuring a consistent brand experience from the physical MTR ads to the digital wallet.





    The proposal


    NFTs and the Metaverse have become global buzzwords, yet many people in Hong Kong still find them abstract and difficult to relate to. This project aims to bridge that gap by offering visitors a hands-on introduction to both concepts—allowing them to explore the world of NFTs and the Metaverse through immersive art, and even own their very first NFT. It serves as an accessible and engaging entry point for those taking their first step into the digital future.

    Artzioneer is a new one-stop NFT marketplace which focuses on building a community of art, self-expression, and imagination. We aim to create avant-garde and creative NFT projects for all creators from which to build a new bohemian metaverse of artistic self-reliance.

     
    Solution

    Our space designer uses special props and gadgets to provide an immersive and thrilling experience at the high-tech exhibition space.
    We invited 3 commissioned, contemporary artists introducing Metaverse to audience in an art form. 

    • Celebrated youth-culture researcher and sound artist Zhang Anding (Zafka) has created a virtual open country soundscape. Displays will use a 2 x 6 metre immersive audio-video space to provide a must-see experience.

    • Peter Nelson used advance computing to illustrate an animation of a lost ancient civilisation. The technology uses AI and machine-learning models in order to teach itself about ancient and modern art history. The exhibition will showcase a Chinese ink-paintings created by the robotic arm.

    • Mark Chung uses aerial photography to present a new and unique perspective of Hong Kong which will complement the art works of the other NFT artists along same.
